The Lion and the Mouse – Ezop Masalı29 Mayıs 2020
While a lion was sleeping, a mouse ran over his face and woke him up. The lion got angry and seized the mouse and was about to kill it. The mouse was terrified and entreated the lion to spare its life. “Please let me go,” it cried, “and one day I will repay you for your kindness.” The lion was amused because the mouse was very small and weak, and the lion thought “How can a mouse help a lion?”, and he laughed loudly and set the mouse free (=let it go).
But one day the lion got caught in a net which was set by some hunters. The mouse heard and recognized the lion’s roar and ran to the spot. Without waiting, it began to gnaw the ropes and soon the lion was free. The mouse said, “you laughed at me when I promised I would repay you: but now you see, even a Mouse can help a Lion.”
