The Milkmaid and Her Pail – Ezop Masalı
29 Mayıs 2020A farmer’s daughter had milked the cows and was returning to the dairy. She was carrying the milk pail on her head. As she walked, she began dreaming and talking to herself like this; “The milk in this pail will provide me with cream. I will turn the cream into butter and take it to the market and sell it. With the money, I will buy eggs. These eggs, when hatched, will produce chickens, and in time, I will have a large poultry-yard. Then I will sell some of my chickens, and with the money I will buy myself a new gown. I will wear the gown when I go to the fair; and all the young men will admire it, and they will want to talk to me, but I will turn my head will not talk to them.” While dreaming, she forgot about the pail on her head, and, suiting the action to the word, she turned her head. The pail went down and all the milk was spilled, and all her dreams disappeared.
Do not count your chickens before they are hatched.
