AHMET AND HIS FAMILY
Ahmet has got two brothers and two sisters. He is the oldest child of the family. His brothers are Selim and Kamil. Selim is 15 years old and Kamil is twenty. Kamil graduated from high school two years ago. He went to university. He is studying medicine in İstanbul. Selim is at high school. He wants to study medicine, too.
Ahmet’s sisters are Cemile and Ayşe. Cemile was born two years ago. She is at home all day long. She watches TV and plays with her mother, Hayriye. She likes playing with her mother and her mother likes playing with her. Ayşe is nineteen years old. She is also at university, studying law. She wants to be a lawyer in the future.
Ahmet’s father, Mr. Fethi, is a teacher. He started teaching 25 years ago. At first, he was a class teacher, that is he taught little children. Ten years ago, he became a biology teacher because biology was his original branch. He loves teaching because his students are brilliant and respectful.
Ahmet’s mother is a housewife. She takes care of home, her husband and the children. Ayşe used to help her until three years ago but now she is away from home.
Ahmet is not a student. He graduated from university five years ago. He is an engineer. He is working for a building company, drawing plans and projects for new buildings. He often helps his sisters and brothers because his father is not a rich man. Last month, for example, he sent a total of ₺250. Kamil and Ayşe need his help most because they are at university and need more money than the others. Ahmet understands them pretty well as he was a university student five years ago.
