The Dog, the Rooster, and the Fox – Ezop Masalı

A dog and rooster became good friends and agreed to travel together. At night, the rooster flew up into the branches of the tree and slept there. The dog slept inside the trunk, which was hollow. In the morning, the rooster woke up and crew as usual. A fox heard it, and came and stood under the tree because he wanted to eat the rooster. The fox begged the rooster to come down. He said, “I would like to make friends with you because you have a beautiful voice.” The rooster replied, “OK. But you should wake up my porter. He is sleeping at the bottom of the tree. He will open the door and then you can come here.” The fox believed him and knocked on the trunk. Then the dog ran out and tore him into pieces.
